We are Legends

November 3, 2012 was the pre-draft for the American Basketball Leaguewww.abl-hoops.com Men of all ages came from all over to give the coaches a taste of what to expect during the 2013 season.  There were 3 full courts of able-bodied men who were both hungry and thirsty for a chance to be apart of something great.  And great is what spectators will be privileged to experience beginning in January.  Get ready because we are just getting started.  And the Blueprint Team is front and center.  Some of the brilliant brains who are ready to bring the championship to Sugar LandCalvin Murphy and son Calvin Murphy, Jr. Our eyes are wide open and we are ready to create Legends.

The morning began at 9:00 AM with warm-ups and drills from players.  They were divided into groups.  Jersey colors were all black with white numbers, and all white with black numbers.  It was an amazing sight.  As the players began working drills.  It was pretty evident that this was not a joke.  This is a big deal!  We were able to quickly spot the leaders, the veterans, and some who were still trying to find their purpose.  Either way, there was a great mix of talent.  And everyone was hungry, but some made it known in a way that set them apart from others.  I can’t say yet who they were, but I can definitely say that this team is definitely going to be one for others to reckon with.   The teams ran drills and at 11:45 AM everyone took a break.  It was definitely time to reflect and come back with your game face.  Because, 12:45 PM meant that you had to truly show ABL coaches exactly what you had to bring to the table.

We were glad to be on the court.  The energy was paramount.  Balls were flying, slick passes, skilled footwork and there was also some DUNKING going on.  There was a lot of heart on these courts today.  The best part was the team work as the groups huddled up before tip-off, and during the game kept the communication going.  Some were able to decipher the language, and then there were some who were just apart of the group.  We saw some pouting, there were some disagreements with calls, but the games were serious.  The day ended shortly before 3:00 PM, and the players were tired, but pumped up.  Everyone waiting to finally get their shot.

There is still one more stop we have to make.  And we are bringing it all the way home to Sugar Land, Texas.  Official Free Agent Tryouts will take place the weekend of November 16, 2012.

July 2012 | Houston Health & Wellness

Dr. Michiel Rorick provides a quality newsletter every month that will make us take a break and evaluate our healthy choices.  We are constantly looking for ways that can enhance our overall way of living, sometimes as the saying goes, “it’s the little things,” that we do everyday that count.  What healthy choices have you made so far in 2012? How do you incorporate your kids in making healthy choices?  Sometimes life gets so busy, that we sometimes become laxed in our healthy choices.  Have you ever noticed how the new media-age plays an impact on your overall health?  I am here to say that I have never realized how unhealthy and distracting it can be.   I’m going to challenge myself this month of July to decrease the amount time I spend watching t.v.  Take a look at this newsletter. July 2012 | Houston Health & Wellness. Let’s talk about some ah-ha moments and make healthier choices!

Blueprint Get’s fit in 2012

Actions speak louder than words, right?!  Well Blueprint Public Relations has decided to do something about it.  We have discussed for months the need to live healthier lives.  These things can have such a positive effect not only in our personal lives, but even more so in our professional activities as well.  How so?  To decide to get healthy means that there must be a change in the way you think about yourself, how your life and overall existence in important to so many people.  What does it take to make this happen?

POSITIVE ATTITUDE

To promote a positive happier attitude, you must first challenge yourself.—– Choosing to join a fitness group is a challenge in itself because our team consists of working mom’s.  So in order for us to push ourselves, we needed to be in a group environment of individuals who also had goals to reach in regards to their weight, health, and overall well-being.

Find things to do that you like——We love good music and to move to an even better beat.  Why not exercise in a way that you know you will have fun.  For some, just paying a monthly gym membership is not enough.  Some of need to not only be challenged, but forced to have fun!

Turn off the TV—–Try watching less TV for 1 week and tell us the difference it made in your home

In the good words of our trainer….”I’m concerned more about Quality, then Quantity”
